Join our special Summer Outdoor Meetup in Central Park!
This Meetup will start with a self-defense class taught by martial art instructors from POP Gym, where we will discover and practice introductory skills to keep us feeling safe.
Then, we'll learn about nutrition, physical wellness, and healthy relationships in a session facilitated by Kyra, an AmeriCorps volunteer working with the International Rescue Committee.
You are warmly welcome to stay after 12:30pm, to enjoy a picnic lunch with us!
Meetups are held by New Women New Yorkers to build a strong community of young immigrant women in New York City, a safe space where we feel free to speak up, support each other, and get access to workforce development and networking opportunities.

- To empower young immigrant women to get their first fulfilling job in the NYC workforce, or to pursue higher education;
- To provide a safe, transformative space and community where young immigrant women can meet and network, support each other, and experience and demonstrate leadership;
- To offer a platform where young immigrant women can tell their stories and express their voice, and thereby inform and raise public awareness.
